officially agreed on the group name of the Greater Lansing Network Against War in Iraq.
December 13, 2002 First press conference at Central Methodist Church
announcing the formation of GLNAWI.
January 17, 2003 Sponsored four buses from Lansing to Washington, DC.
ANSWER March to Stop the War. Joined in noon press conference GLYPAJ send off with their
Mural, Collateral Damage, to Washington, DC. Send off of four buses later that evening at
UU Church in East Lansing.
January 18, 2003 Organized and sponsored a Solidarity Walk and Teach In.
Peace march from the St. Stephens Church to the Capitol. Provided lunch at Teach In at Central
United Methodist Church following the march.
January 21, 2003 Participated in a MoveOn visit with Mike Rogers.
January27 , 2003 Lansing City Council Resolution sponsored by GLNAWI urging
the US government to pursue all peaceful diplomatic alternatives to disarm Iraq passes 7-0.
February- March 19, 2003 A Daily Peace Vigil began at Orchard St. Pump House
Neighborhood Center from 7-8 a.m.
February 15, 2003 Organized Michigan's March for Peace In Iraq. Rallyat
Beaumont Tower and then march from MSU to the Capitol. Several thousand joined the march
and voiced their opposition to War in Iraq.
March 15, 2003 Organized a Peace rally at the Capitol.
March 20, 2003 Held a 24 hour vigil at the Capitol when attacks began on Iraq.
April 2, 2003 Began Sunday night peace vigils in East Lansing. Keeping the
Flame of Peace Alive.
April 24, 2003 Co-sponsored talk, Preventing A Bigger Human Catastrophe in
Iraq by Dr. Al-Jumailyof Life for Relief and Development in B102 Wells Hall, MSU.
April 25, 2003 Co-sponsored talk, The US & Post-Invasion Iraq: Is the World

bikes, similar to a funeral procession, went to Sen. Stabenow, Rep. Rogers and Sen. Levin's
offices and hand delivered letters asking them to speak out against the torture of Iraqis and all forms of torture.

January 5, 2005 GLNAWI contigent visited Senators Stabenow and Levin's
Office to ask each of them to refuse to certify the vote until the Ohio Election irregularities
investigations were complete
January 17, 2005 GLNAWI marched with others at MSU to celebrate the life &
legacy of Martin Luther King. GLNAWI banner read, "Peace is not merely a distant goal that
we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Greater
Lansing Network Against War & Injustice
February 5, 2005 GLNAWI has information table at Mid-Winter sing at Hannah
Center. Signatures collected on 2005 Withdraw the Troops Immediately peition.
February 23 & 24,2005 GLNAWI organized Interfaith Lobby Groups in conjunction
with Friends Committee on National Legislation Lobby Day. Two delegations , 5 people each
visited Senators Levin and Stabenow offices. The message sponsor an amendment "It is the policy
of the United States to withdraw all military troops and bases from Iraq."
